How to Get a Remote Job
Remote hiring is more competitive than local hiring because the applicant pool is the whole world. You win by being specific, not by applying to more jobs.
1. Pick one lane
Choose one role type and one seniority level, then tailor every application to it. A generic CV that could fit five roles fits none of them well.
2. Prove remote readiness
Show async work: clear writing, documented decisions, and results you achieved without daily supervision. Link to work you can actually show.
3. Apply where the job is posted
VJob lists roles from RemoteOK, Arbeitnow and Jobicy. Always apply on the original site — that is where the hiring team sees your application.
4. Follow up once, politely
One short follow-up after a week is enough. Then move on; volume with quality beats waiting on one role.
